Referee Training Programme

The CMAA Referee Training Programme is open to everyone regardless of which Martial Arts group they are members of.

Aimed at Points, Light Continuous and Kata/Forms the programme operates like no other and is for the benefit of every Martial Arts group who run competitions. Candidates will have to attend competitions, regardless of who the hosting Martial Arts group are, and offer themselves as Referees in order to gain evidence to move through the 3 classifications within the programme.

TRAINING COURSES

Courses are run subject to demand only. Please note that attending a course will not result in a full qualification, this is merely the start. The course will cover some basic rules as used by many Martial Arts groups as well as practical application of Refereeing skills, recommended dress codes and most important of all - area management.

Attendees will be accredited to Class C at the course (see below) and then certification as a B or A Class Referee is then gained by working the mats / areas at competitions over time, evidence of which is then recorded on the official training records. This can be done at any event regardless of who the hosting Martial Arts group are as mentioned above.
