Cobra First Aid Trainer / Assessors
The Head Trainer is Andrew Morrell. First qualifying with St John Ambulance in 1990 Andrew then spent 19 years teaching as
a St John Ambulance Trainer/Assessor. In 2009 Andrew moved on and formed Cobra First Aid.
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981
Following the recommendations contained in the 2012 Lofstedt report the HSE withdrew approval/accreditation to First Aid training
providers on the 1st October 2013. In addition the first-aid Approved Code of Practice was withdrawn. New guidelines were
published, available from the CMAA office.
First Aid for Sport
This is the main course delivered and will give you all the necessary basic life saving and first aid skills to deal with a whole range of
sporting injuries and also for general use. There are further more advanced courses available upon request such as First Aid at Work
(FAW) which is done over 3 days and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) which is 1 full day.
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for anyone involved in sporting & supervisory activities i.e. The Coach, Club Instructor or Assistant Instructor.

~ Choking, Bleeding, Eye Injuries, Head Injuries
~ Treatment of Shock, Cross infection
~ Treatment of Sprains, Strains, Dislocations & Fractures
~ Treatment of Strokes, Asthma, Epilepsy & Chest Pains
~ Burns & Scalds
~ Recording Incidents and First Aid Actions
~ Course evaluation and closure
Continuous assessment throughout the course to include CPR & Role play
A Cobra First Aid certificate (registered with the CMAA and valid for three years), is issued on successful completion of the course.
However it is recommended that this is renewed every two years.
