



Cobra First Aid Trainer / Assessors
The Head Trainer is Andrew Morrell. First qualifying with St John Ambulance in 1990 Andrew then spent 19 years teaching as
a St John Ambulance Trainer/Assessor. In 2009 Andrew moved on and formed Cobra First Aid.
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981
Following the recommendations contained in the 2012 Lofstedt report the HSE withdrew approval/accreditation to
First Aid training providers on the 1st October 2013. In addition the first-aid Approved Code of Practice was withdrawn.
Since then it has been advised that persons requiring First Aid training assess their needs ahead of booking a course.
First Aid for Sport
First Aid for Sport is the main course delivered and will give you basic life support (BLS) and first aid skills.
There are further more advanced courses available upon request such as First Aid at Work
(FAW) which is done over 3 days and Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) which is 1 full day.
Course content
This course will help provide you with invaluable knowledge on how to deliver potentially life-saving help.
You will learn how to assess situations with primary and secondary surveys, techniques such as hands only chest compressions,
the recovery position, the spinal recovery position and how to react to a variety of emergencies such as choking, asthma attacks etc.
Certification
A Cobra First Aid for Sport certificate (registered with the CMAA and valid for three years), is issued on
successful completion of the course.
However it is recommended that this is renewed every two years.

Accredited Prior Learning and Continued Professional Development
This qualification will also be accredited to the Martial Arts Instructor UK Training Programme.
